Authentic Wood Blinds

True wood blinds offer natural insulation due to their thickness and porous density. They are popular amongst interior designers for their ability to add a warm and cozy feeling to any room. Faux Wood Blinds

Although not authentic, faux wood maintain a similar look to true wood blinds. They offer benefits of enhanced durability and lower price, though some faux-wood materials can be heftier in their weight. Generally available in vinyl and composite-wood materials. Vinyl can be most durable, but also is the heaviest option – something to consider for larger installations. Composite wood is made from real wood fibers mixed with polymer resins – not as heavy as vinyl, but not as light as wood.

Aluminum Blinds

Aluminum blinds offer a stylish appearance along with high energy efficiency, blocking out hot sun-rays keeping the room cool during the summer. Aluminum also offers the advantage of hundreds of color options with baked-on enamel colors. Other options include brushed and smooth metal finishes. Most aluminum blinds are available with anti-static finishes that keep dust away, making maintenance minimal.

Fabric blinds are typically used for vertical installations, though there are some horizontal options available. Fabric blinds offer unique appearance to other materials, bringing depth, patterns and variance to their design. Fabric blinds are available in various opacities, from sheer to solid – this makes fabric options unique in the sense that they offer complete privacy while also allowing some light through to enhance the appearance of the room.
